According to Blabbermouth Metallica might be headlining Ozzfest. Is this awesome? Well that depends on whether or not Metallica brings the Thrash. If they play ONE of those horrible songs from the '90's then it's not worth it. Hopefully Rick Rubin kicked those old pricks in their asses and got them to sound like... well, Metallica again. The bad part is that it looks like Ozzfest won't be tour, just a big show, like metal Coachella or something.

"horrible songs from the 90's"???
what the hell does that mean??
i guess true metallica fans are few and far between. if you're a true metallica fan and a REAL musician (i am 25 years), you couls understand that load and reload are truly metallicas musical masterpieces. zep' had 'zoso' and 'houses of the holy'.
the beatles had 'the white album'.
the point is, that metallica reach far and beyond anything they had ever accomplished musicaly with these albums.
my final thoughts are, EVERYTHING MUST GROW AND CHANGE, IT IS THE MOST ESSENTIAL PART OF LIFE!! TAKE YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR ASS AND STOP BEING SO NARROW MINDED ABOUT CHANGE!! OR ARE YOU STILL ROCKING YOUR SPANDEX AND SPIKED WRISTBAND LIKE IT WAS 1986 STILL!!!!!
OK, first of all I don't know what the fuck your age has anything to do with this. Even if it did mean something then it woudn't apply here because I'm only 2 years older then you.
Now on to your comments. Sorry dude but music is like everything else in life. I don't get this mind set where it's ok to allow bands to produce crappy albums. What I mean is this. If you were a REAL Metallica fan like you say then why would you lie to them and encourage them to make bad music? A real fan would tell them that they should stop packaging up shit and selling it to their fans. It's people like you that keep blowing smoke up their asses making them think they don't suck now. Well dude, they do suck and they shouldn't. People like you encourage them to suck. WHY?
If your favorite local pizzeria suddenly started putting ketchup and EZ cheese on toast you would stop eating there right? OF COURSE!
I'm ok with bands changing but when they CLEARLY change in an attempt to cash in then that's not acceptable. Especially considering they were already the richest fucking metal band ever.
Dude, I worked in the music biz. I don't have the same false illusions of musicians as untouchable Gods that you apparently do. These are people and people fuck up all the time. If you actually think that those albums in the 90's were good then you have horrible taste in music. If you're just convincing yourself that redneck alterna-rock shit is them being evolving artists then you're just being an ass. Bands that were once good can suck. It's the reason that bands don't last very long in general. ALL bands go south, or at least lose a step, at some point.
Let's face it, once Metallica made the Black album it was downhill from there. I remember seeing them at the tail end of the ...and Justice for all tour and was wiplashed and then I saw them on the Black album tour...underwhelmed. Then I bought the LOad album and was sorely dissapointed. Reload? Urghhh. St Anger? Oh man, possibly the worst album they have made. Many bands have changed with the times and survived (Rush for example) and continued to stick to their "sound" but I'm afraid Metallica forgot where they came from. Megadeth done this with Risk (well pish) and then regained their footing later. I just hope that Metallica come out with something to make me shut my mouth. I want them to THRASH THE SHIT out of my ears and make me believe they are the KINGS OF METAL. Gaz
