I'm going to put together a guide for all ya'll tourists who have never been to Vineland. But anyway, the area they're descibing is NOT very good for large amounts of people. Hotels are scarce and I can't think of any nearby camp grounds. Not that it matters to me since I can crash at my parents house.
But really man...I'm kinda freaked out by this whole thing. I gotta give Perry a hand for this one (he's the mayor).

Here is the farm they're having it on. Yes it's big but considering there's NOWHERE else to park that field is going to fill up quickly with cars. This is especially true when you factor in the fact that there's no public transportation anywhere near here.

This is very bizarre. I live in Vineland and this is just coming out of left field, you know...there's like no music culture at all here.
I really hope they can pull this off, it'll be so embarrassing if this turns out to be a huge disaster.
I agree I was totally shocked to see this too! However I completely disagree that its not a good place to have it. Ever heard of Bonnaroo in Manchester TN? If you want to talk about a town with no music culture then I mean I think we might be one step ahead of there come on lol! Also who cares about hotels because everyone will be camping so there is no need for that stuff. Trust me, these festivals are best when they are in the middle of no where because you don't have to worry about being in a city and city prices and there are lots of wide open spaces for camping. I do understand Bonnaroo is on a bigger site that is 700 acres as opposed to our 570 acre. But keep in mind everyone drives to Bonnaroo as well and there were def over 100,000 people there last year and I think maybe even close to 150,000 so the project 50,000 that are coming to this is a cake walk. In my opinion this is going to pull Cumberland County out of its downward spiral considering other festivals like this one gross 10-20 million dollars alone for the towns in which they are held. Only good things can come of this and I know for sure I already started planning my party for it!
I live in, and own a nice bakery in downtown Vineland. I moved here about a year and a half ago, but my wife is from here. This is a really big deal for the town, it's kinda crazy. The downtown improvment district is in high gear now in an attempt to spruce up Landis Ave. It's very exciting times, and I hope it's good for our business.

This will be awesome...
I live just 10 minutes away from this venue area and if you go to the right place, you'll find PLENTY of hotels... they are just 10-15 minutes away in vineland. There's Holidays, Days Inn, Wingate, and Ramada.
But anyways, this will be an awesome event to attend!

Dude, there's less then 10 hotels in the immediate area. Considering this is a festival of at least 20K people (not including band and crew) then that's far from "plenty". Also, keep in mind that traffic will be a fucking nightmare so if you stay in one of those hotels good luck getting to the venue site in less then an hour.
who cares if there are no hotels...nobody needs one. Get a clue dude.
If you think hotels won't be an issue then you're wrong. Thousands of music biz folks are going to be in town for this and they're going to stay in hotels. That's not even including the people that are performing and their entourages and crew. You could fill every hotel in Vineland and Millville just with people in the biz and working the show. A few of those people will camp but most will not. Yes, your average concert goer will be camping but I don't see how you can possibly think 30,000 people descending on a town for 3 days won't cause an issue with hotels. "Get a clue dude."
I'm a resident of this town who is deeply saddened by the "don't do that" attitude of some of the more vocal members of this town.
