The MTA strike is over. Those greedy swine are finally going back to their token booths and computerized trains. It's about damn time. Of course it's going to take 3 days for those bastards to have the trains going again, but I think we'll have buses by tomorrow.
Anyway, I'm too lazy to read into the specifics but the workers seem to be real scumbags. I mean you make $47-$55,000 +benefits and you retire at 50 or 55. Sounds pretty goddamn fair to me. I hate to do this but I'm going to quote Bloomberg, this is what he said about the effect the strike is having on people that actually make a shitty living, unlike MTA employees:
“These are not people who are making $50-$60,000 a year. These are people making $10, $20, $30,000 a year, and they're the ones who are really suffering,” said Bloomberg. “What fraud this really is, if you think about it - claiming to be the champion of working families, when the illegal actions they are taking are costing New Yorkers their livelihood. I don't think there is any other way to describe it."
Fuckin-A Bloomie, I hate you a little less right now.
