Bridge and Tunnel Crowd

Last night I was invited to a party for a production company at Au Bar on 58th street. I was hesitant to go because, well - it's on 58th street. We get to this place around midnight and there is a line of wanna-be pop stars trying to get in. The doorman was quite the asshole and gave us a hard time but eventually let us in when a friend came and told him we were "cool."

The crowd inside was dressed in the finest of yuppie-prep attire. It wasn't very difficult to figure out that these people were from the upper regions of New Jersey and the outer regions of Brooklyn and Queens. Under normal circumstances I would have left after ten minutes, but when people keep handing me free booze I tend to stick around.

Eventually, I couldn't take it anymore and snuck out. I headed down to Rififi and stood in line for about 10 minutes. The place looked pretty good, which hasn't been happening lately - what with the raids and all. So anyway I get inside and get a call from a friend who is outside waiting for me in a cab. Ten minutes in line and I didnt even get a beer. I did manage to get one shot off though.
